How do you remove macros from an excel document?

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

My former boss added all kinds of unnecessary, unhelpful things to the main document I use to do my work, and then she got fired. The macros didn’t do what I needed them to, but she wouldn’t remove them. Can I do that?

Also, I can’t figure out how to remove a header and footer from the same document. It wastes paper when I’m trying to print only certain pages.

Thanks!

RECOMMENDATION: Test using a copy of the document. Work with the changed copy and if everything is OK then you can use it as your normal document or apply the changes to the original document

Excel version???

• Open the workbook that contains the macro you want to delete.

EXCEL 2003:
• From the Menu bar select TOOLS >> MACROS.
• In the Macros in list, click THIS WORKBOOK.
• In the Macro name box, click the name of the macro that you want to delete.
• Click Delete.

EXCEL 2007:
You need to enable/display the developer tab to be able to delete a macro:
• Click OFFICE button >> EXCEL OPTIONS.
• From the category left pane select POPULAR
• Check-mark the box for SHOW DEVELOPER TAB IN THE RIBBON.
Now follow these steps to delete the macro

how to copy functions in excel?

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

I need to copy functions in a worksheet, but I want to skip few cells in between.
eg – I want to copy from row 3 to row 6, then skip row 7, then copy from row 8 to row 11, skip row 12 and so on.
When I try to do this excel advances the value to one cell on top.
eg – the value in row 8 shows up in row 7 and value in row 9 shows up in row 8 and so on. How do I do this?

paste your formula here
$$$dollar is your friend
* $A1 tells Excel you always want to refer to column A.
* B$1 tells Excel you always want to refer to row 1.
* $B$1 tells Excel you always want to refer to cell B1.
